As trauma informed teachers and therapists, our expertise lies in creating a safe and supportive environment where young people can thrive and reach their full potential. Using evidence-based strategies and an interactive training approach we will share new perspectives on trauma and the brain, classroom connection, and de-escalation techniques that work. During this session we will also discuss the neurobiological effects of trauma, classroom trauma behaviors and accommodations, universal precautions, and behavior support strategies. Participants will walk away with practical and tangible tools to start implementing strategies immediately. Each participant will also receive an emailed resource booklet.
Trauma informed classrooms promote a safe, welcoming, and predictable environment for all students, when trauma is not addressed students are distracted and checked out, and often times falling further behind.
