Claremont USD Districtwide Staff Development Day - August 26, 2024

Learn about AVID and AVID strategies for all content areas: WICOR, Focused Notes, Close Reading, Inquiry, Organization, and more. Teachers can work smarter, not harder. AVID strategies are effective for all students, and hearing /using them consistently throughout their day will make transitioning between classes and contents easier. Much of what we do in AVID are things you are already doing in your classes; let's work together to build common vocabulary on campus!
Staff will be more informed of what AVID is and how we implement strategies focused on WICOR in our elective class. Staff can utilize AVID resources that are proven effective in their content classes or use them as a stepping-stone to create their own. Having and using common strategies and vocabulary is good for building community on campus.
