Claremont USD Districtwide Staff Development Day - August 26, 2024

Unearthing Joy is part of a framework centered around teaching culturally, linguistically, and historically under-represented students. Through the exploration of integrating joy into the classroom, recognizing its power to engage all students and embrace the discovery, cultivation, and unleashing of their untapped potential. Beyond celebration and happiness, joy encompasses the ideas of wellness, beauty, healing, and justice, thereby fostering personal and collective growth. Attendees will take away useful tools to integrate into their classrooms based around the idea of Joy and the CHLE framework. Attendees will not only develop actionable items but build a layered musical playlist as they take steps to embrace the importance of Joy in our classrooms. Staff will benefit from attending this session because they will have a solid understanding of the pursuit of Joy. They will align tools to use in order to help students to uplift beauty, aesthetics, truth, ease, wonder, and wellness. They will find their Joy, embrace it, and learn how to foster this idea in their students.
